A message to our beloved Zoo community:

Since 2018, The Zoo/ZooPix has been a special, close-knit place for pet parents to connect and celebrate their pets. It is with endless gratitude that we share a bittersweet announcement: The app will be closing at the end of January 2026.

This was not an easy decision, but it is one made with the utmost consideration and appreciation for our community. Our core Zoo Crew team has been with you since the beginning and has seen first-hand how incredible this dedicated family of pet parents really is.

We know you may have questions in light of this announcement, so please see the Q&A below for more information, including info about your account data and privacy choices. Most importantly, you can fill out the DOWNLOAD REQUEST FORM to receive a link to download all the photos and videos shared to your profiles! To every Zoo member who made this community feel like home: thank you. You showed the best of what pet lovers can be – kind, supportive, and endlessly joyful. Q&A

When did The Zoo close?
The final full day of operation was Thursday, January 29, 2026, with access to the app being turned off at midnight on January 30.

Can I still see my profile and awards on The Zoo?
Since the app is offline, you unfortunately cannot see your posts or profile any longer. The app has been removed from the iOS and Android app stores and you will no longer be able to log in, even if you still have it installed.

Can I save the posts that were on my profile?
Yes! Users may submit a Download Request form at www.thezoobychewy.com/download. After submitting your request, keep an eye on your inbox for a confirmation message from hello@thezoobychewy.com. Once we have confirmed your information and processed your request, we will send a link to download your posts to the email address provided in the form.

Will I still be able to download the posts on my profile even though The Zoo has already closed?
Yes, our Download Request Form will remain open and active through March 31, 2026!

Can I combine my Zoo profile with my Chewy profile to save my posts and information?
Unfortunately, the profile structures at The Zoo are very different from Chewy accounts, so we will not be able to merge the two.

What will happen to the data The Zoo has stored about my account?
All data from users under the age of 18 was deleted automatically when the servers went offline per state and federal regulations. For all other users, please fill out our Data Deletion Request Form if you wish for us to remove any account data remaining on our servers: https://thezoobychewy.com/your-privacy-choices/. This data may include things such as first and last name, birth date, email address, phone number, and location. NOTE: For users located in Canada, please reach out to us directly at hello@thezoobychewy.com for assistance with deleting your information!

Will Chewy be allowed to use my photos and videos even after the app closes?
Yes, photos and videos in the app may be used for future projects. If you do not wish for these items to appear in any Chewy materials moving forward, please fill out our Data Deletion Request form: www.thezoobychewy.com/your-privacy-choices

Did The Zoo have any celebrations or events before it closed?
Yes! Throughout the month of January, we shared special posts highlighting our incredible community over the past 7 years since ZooPix first launched to the app store. We also had an all-day closing party on January 29, filled with special posts and fun events. If you were unable to make it, we are working on getting the special posts up on our website so users who may have missed out can still see them. 🧡

Is there anything we can do as a community to save The Zoo and have it open again?
No, the final decision has already been made, and the app is permanently closed.

What will happen to The Zoo team now that the app is gone?
The Zoo Crew has already merged with several different Chewy teams and is hard at work on a wide variety of projects. Some of those projects do include bringing a bit of the Zoo spirit into the Chewy app, so we hope The Zoo can live on in new ways in the future!
